Finally, it has been set. ESPN reported what all Filipino boxing fans have been waiting for.

The Manny Pacquiao - Floyd Mayweather fight is set on May 3, 2015 (Manila Time) as confirmed via Mayweather's post in the social media app, Shots.

In this post, Mayweather shared a photo containing signatures with the caption that both fighters have signed the fight contract.

I wish that Manny Pacquiao will train as hard as ever.

I wish that he take a leave of absence from Congress and the PBA.

I wish that he will do everything to make this fight exciting and end up with a win.

Mayweather Vs Alvarez - Finally, a real fight for Mayweather.

The Floyd Mayweather Jr. versus Saul "Canelo" Alvarez fight is now a done deal!

After reading that Mayweather will be fighting Alvarez on September 14 here, I couldn't agree more that for the first time, Mayweather picked an opponent that the fans wanted him to fight and one that is very much capable of dealing him his first loss as a professional boxer.

Actually, if you've seen sportsnation's survey, Pacquiao-vs-Mayweather is still wanted. Mayweather-vs-Alvarez though comes in second. With Pacquiao's drawing power fading due to his devastating loss to Juan Manual Marquez, it is easy to understand Mayweather's choice. It is really about what fight will give him the most profit.

Alvarez has nothing to lose and everything to gain in this fight. Even if he loses, he is still young. Perhaps if Alvarez loses and Pacman comes away victorious in the Pacquiao-vs-Rios fight, maybe Alvarez-Pacquiao could be a possibility.

For Mayweather, a convincing win will further cement his legacy.

Mayweather-Pacquiao Fight Still Wanted

As much as I have given up on a Pacquiao-Mayweather fight, there are still people who wish to see that fight happen.

If you take ESPN's sportsnation survey as to who should Mayweather face in his next fight, it is clear that a lot of people want Pacman to challenge Money.

Obviously, Mayweather camp would pick the one who could help them make more money and can be expected to favoring a Mayweather-Canelo fight.

I hope that Pacquiao too have seen and understood that many people still like to see him and mayweather fight. I hope that would mean more motivation for him to come out spectacularly on top of the coming Pacquiao - Rios bout.

Pacquiao vs. Rios - a Comeback or Retirement for Pacquiao?

Finally, Manny Pacquiao has chosen to fight vs Brandon Rios this coming November 24, 2013. We know our man, Manny Pacquiao but who is he up against? Who is Brandon Rios

When I first read about the Pacquio-vs-Rios fight being set, I immediately searched youtube for Rios.

And I liked that this young fighter loves to brawl and boasts of a 31-1 professional ring record with 23 knockouts.

This is good news to us Pacquiao fans. Rios style, if he will bring the same on the ring come fight night, appear tailof-fit to Pacman's style.

And although Rios is younger, I believe that Pacquiao still has the speed to evade Rios' attacks and the power to knock him out. No less than knock-out can bring back Pacquiao in the conversations with the likes of Floyd Mayweather and Juan Miguel Marquez.

But to do that, Pacquiao need to focus on boxing. I'm sorry Pacman. But I wish you'd lose this coming election so (Darn! Pacquiao is unopposed) that you can focus back on boxing. With Filipino champions losing championships left and right in the world stage, we need Pacman to bring back Philippine boxing in the map.

Mayweather Tweets Out Pacquiao For May 5 Fight

A challenge to fight in this digital age can not be more straight-to-the-point than that of Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s recent tweet. Mayweather calls out Manny Pacquiao to fight him on May 5th.

Personally, I am growing tired of the camps of these two great boxers pointing at one another why the fight hasn't happened. And as a Filipino, I am inclined to believe that Mayweather is more to blame for dodging Pacquiao.

But I suppose this tweet signifies that Mayweather is finally serious in showing to the world that he is better than Pacquiao inside the ring. We all know that Manny is way ahead of him outside it.

Old movies portray challenges verbally made by protagonists and villain with an agreed date regardless whether its mano-mano, drawing guns or swordfight.

Perhaps Manny Pacquiao and his camp can announce their response via Facebook status?

Pacquiao vs Mosley Fight

For the coming Pacquiao vs. Mosley fight, obviously I'm rooting for Manny Pacquiao.

While I am among those who disagree with this fight, I can not fail to support a countryman that would certainly entertain our whole country once more.

I'm counting on another PacMan win over Mosley. But I hope he wins in a knock-out fashion to add more to his legend. That happening will certainly send a message to a certain pretty loud mouth.

We all know that Pacquiao is not into saying things against his opponents. But Mosley being too nice makes me feel he's just here for the payday and nothing else.

Honestly, I'm looking forward more to what was reported as the next Pacquiao fight - a third fight against arch-nemesis Juan Miguel Marquez. I feel that the animosity between them will pave the way to a genuine fight to the end.

Manny Pacquiao - 24th in Power Sports 100

Manny Pacquiao was ranked no.24 in Bloomberg BusinessWeek's Power Sports 100.

Bloomberg BusinessWeek's Power Sports 100 is a list of athletes and sport personalities that tries to rank them in terms of their influence in their respective sports and off it. Practically, the most powerful athletes in America these days. Considerations for the list includes actual performance on their sport and endorsements.

And I'm glad that our very own Manny Pacquiao is included at number 24. Ahead of much recognizable names such as Derek Jeter, Brett Favre, Kevin Garnett, etc.

Of course this is just one of the many, many accolades PacMan has received since climbing the pinnacle of Boxing.

And on an unrelated note, my favorite basketball player nowadays, Steve Nash is at no. 51 while former no. 1 on the list, Tiger Woods is at number 3 just like his world golf ranking.

We already know the legend of Manny Pacquiao. Here's a cool video explaining the rise of our boxing hero in the classic video game - Punch Out. I hope you would also have a blast watching this video.

Back in the day, Punch Out was a very popular family computer game alongside Super Mario, Contra, Battle City & Galaga. That's how far I can stretch my memory of the not-so-distant past. I can't help but admire the creativity of the makers of this video.

Come to think of it, Manny Pacquiao has yet to conquer the field of computer games. Or am I wrong. If I am right, I'm sure

Manny Pacquiao Punishes Antonio Margarito Wins His 8th Title (Junior Middleweight) Unanimously

Congressman Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao punished Antonio Margarito black and bloodied for almost the entire 12 rounds of their championship fight at the Cowboys' Stadium in Arlington, Texas enroute to a unanimous decision and - extending his record, another title in his eight weight boxing division - the 154-pound Junior Middleweight Belt.

I am still ecstatic at Pacman's domination of Margarito. And the pacman legend continues to grow. The Pacman overcame, er dominated, a foe that is 4 1/2 inches taller, has 6 inches longer reach and 17 pounds heavier during the fight. I would like to give him the title of the most electrifying fighter of my generation.

Here's the face that caught a thousand fists of Pacquiao. Perhaps you can excuse for me for exaggerating for I am Filipino. The exact number was 474. But to me Pacquiao held back in the last three rounds. At some point, I felt some concern over Margarito but I remembered he was caught with illegal hand wraps. So, this beating was justified. If anything, for not being responsible to know what's being put on him.

It dawned on me that perhaps Margarito had this ridiculous strategy - catch all punches of Pacquiao in his face to wear him out. LOL! In the end, an alleged dishonorable man get his comeuppance from someone being addressed honorable in these parts of the world.

Mabuhay ka, Congressman Pacquiao!

P.S (potshots) I'm looking forward to the next Pacman's US TV guesting. And if this is not too much to ask, I hope the program can be seen to wherever Floyd Mayweather Jr is now.

Manny Pacquiao Sings with Will Ferrel at Jimmy Kimmel Live TV Show

I admit it, I'm no big fan of Pacman when it comes to singing. But hey, he's guesting on US TV shows, his vocal jabs in full display.

Here's Manny Pacquiao's recent guesting at the Jimmy Kimmel Show, sharing the stage with comedian Will Ferrell, in a rendition of John Lennon's classicImagine John Lennon.

Sure, this is for promoting his upcoming fight with Antonio Margarito. But the fact that Pacman is allowed to display his singing prowess on US TV shows convinced me to listen at least once, just for this post.

I do not know if it just because he's with Will Ferrell but Pacman looked having so much fun. Oh, well. I hope not too much to distract his preparation and made me lose a meal bet come his fight.

Congressman Manny Pacquiao

Manny Pacquiao is in serious preparation to his newest challenge - the House of Representative.

In a TV interview, Congressman-elect Manny Pacquiao's preparation includes learning the protocols of Congress and studying public administration in the University of Philippines. He revealed that his priority is the creation of a university in his congressional district.

It is welcome news that he is not concerned about the position itself but in accomplishing something. I am hoping that he won't succumb to the system of politics.

I am one of those not in favor of him running for government office. But if he will make a real difference in serving as a congressman, then I would not mind being wrong and eating my words.
