UFC 115 Results: Franklin KOs Liddell
>> Monday, June 14, 2010
Rich Franklin caught a lunging Chuck Liddell right smack in the jaw in the waning seconds of the first round to come out victorious in the main event of UFC 115.
UFC 115 was held in a sold out General Motors Place, Vancouver. The first time a UFC event was held in place. The main event was non-title fight between two veteran mixed-martial campaigners.
Rich "Ace" Franklin caught the attacking Chuck "the Iceman" Liddell with his right and knocked down the UFC legend 4:55 in the first round in UFC 115 main event.
The UFC 115 result of the main event will probably close the legendary career of Liddell who despite being 40 years old tried to recover old glory. He appeared to be well-conditioned and attacked Franklin with leg kicks and his trademark punches early in the fight.
Franklin, the tactician that he is, executed a great game plan of moving well and countering Liddells move. In a take down, Franklin was able to elude a fight in the mat. Liddell came out bleeding after that.
But still, Liddell continued to attacked. He connected with an elbow to Franklin's head and as he moved forward towards Franklin, he wasn't able to evade Franklin's right hand. The Iceman laid down on floor with blood in his face.
If UFC 115 resulted with the last fight of Liddell, he gave Franklin some kind of a remembrance - a broken left arm.
If he retires, Thanks Chuck for the memorable fights.
