UE lose again, VS DLSU in UAAP Season 73 Hoops Action

At first, I was glad to be able to catch the 2nd half of today's last UAAP Basketball game. However, my excitement immediately waned watching the University of the East Red Warriors getting blown by the De La Salle Green Archers, 82 - 63 in the first round of the Senior's Men's Basketball of UAAP Season 73.

It was almost like DLSU vs Paul Lee. As only Lee was able to come up big on the UE side. The Green Archers played solid defense, frustrating the Warriors into turn-overs and forced-looking shots.

The Red Warriors grew demoralized as the lead of the Archers grew. I guess, losing to the NU Bulldogs was a better motivating factor for DLSU rather than UE showing up something to their former coach in Dindo Pumaren.

The game, at least in the 2nd half, featured a battle of small ball as both team used more guards than usual. But DLSU proved to be better and showed more desire. UE has now dropped its first 2 games of UAAP Season 73, both by big margin.

DLSU bounced back from a loss against the NU Bulldogs last Thursday which I regret to have missed. Maui Villanueva finished with 16 points while Philip Paredes scored 10 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and blocked 6 shots to pace DLSU.
